Rezolve Ai
Using Rezolve Ai

Custom Fields and Where Content Goes

Choose which of your store's custom fields Rezolve Ai reads and rewrites, and where on the product page each kind of generated content is placed.

Two Settings screens decide how Rezolve Ai works with the parts of a product page that sit outside the title and description. Custom Fields controls what Rezolve Ai reads from the fields your store already keeps, and which of them it may rewrite. Where Content Goes controls where the content it generates ends up.

Both screens need a connected Shopify or WooCommerce store. A project that only imports a product feed has no storefront, so each screen asks you to connect a store first.

You can change the same settings in three places: the Rezolve Ai web app, the Shopify app and the WordPress plugin. They all save to the same place, so a choice made in one holds in the others.

Custom fields

Go to Settings, Custom Fields, or open it directly.

Many stores keep real product copy in custom fields: care guides, specifications, ingredients, size charts, and values such as color and material. Rezolve Ai reads these as facts about each product whenever it writes, so a description or a Q&A can mention the care instructions you already have instead of guessing.

Fields are found during a catalog sync. A newly connected store shows its fields after the first sync finishes.

What Rezolve Ai reads

PlatformFields it reads
ShopifyProduct metafields, the entries they link to (metaobjects), and category values such as color and material
WordPress and WooCommerceACF fields, custom fields, product attributes, custom product tabs, and custom taxonomies such as brand

Every field that holds readable text is used by default. You do not have to switch anything on.

Each row in the table shows the field's name, the kind of field it is (for example Rich text, Text (several lines), Product attribute or Linked entry), how many products carry it, and an example of what it holds.

What Rezolve Ai never reads

Some fields are skipped automatically. They appear on the Not used tab with the reason in the Example column:

Reason shownWhat it means
Looks private, so it is never sent to the writing model. The name suggests a cost, margin, supplier detail, key, password, email address, phone number or bank detail.
Looks like an identifier or a setting, not product copy.Codes, SKUs, prices, stock figures, layout settings and similar.
Belongs to another app.The field stores another app's data or settings.
Review data is handled separately.Ratings and reviews are covered by Customer Ratings.
Duplicates the product's SEO settings. The SEO title and description are already read from the product.
This kind of field holds no readable text.Images, files, links, colors and similar.
Written by Rezolve Ai, so it is never read back as input.Content Rezolve Ai published is not fed back into the next piece it writes.

A Not used field has no checkbox and no action, because there is no choice to make for it.

Leave a field out, or use it again

  1. Find the field. Use the status tabs (All, Used, Rewriting, Left out, Not used) or the search box, which searches field names and their content.
  2. Click Leave out on its row. Rezolve Ai stops using the field straight away, and its status changes to Left out.
  3. To bring it back, click Use again. The field was removed from the stored copy of your products when you left it out, so your catalog is synced again to restore it. This takes a few minutes.

To change several at once, tick their checkboxes and use Leave out or Use again in the bar that appears above the table. The checkbox in the header selects every field on the page. The table shows 25 fields a page.

Let Rezolve Ai rewrite a field

Reading a field never changes it. Rewriting is separate, and it is always your choice, one field at a time.

  1. On a Used field, turn on the switch in the Rewrite column. The field moves onto the Rewriting tab.
  2. Generate content for your products from the store:
    • In the Shopify app, open Products, select products, choose Enrich selected, and tick Custom Fields.
    • In the WordPress plugin, open Rezolve Ai, Products, choose Enrich selected or Enrich all, and tick Your custom fields.
  3. Review the suggestions (see below).

The custom fields option only appears in those pickers once at least one field has Rewrite on.

Not every field can be rewritten. The switch is offered for text fields the store allows apps to edit: single line text, multi-line text and rich text metafields on Shopify, and ACF text, text area and editor fields, custom fields and the short description on WordPress. A field that cannot be rewritten shows Read only in the Rewrite column. Very short values are also left alone, because there is nothing to improve. You can have Rewrite on for up to 50 fields.

A rewrite keeps what the field says. Rezolve Ai drops any suggestion that loses a number or a measurement, adds a claim the product data does not support, grows far past the original, or puts line breaks into a one-line field. If the field is already as good as it can be, no suggestion is made for it.

Rewriting is generated content, so it uses credits. One request covers up to eight of a product's fields, and a product with none of the fields you opted in costs nothing. Reading fields, leaving them out and changing these settings cost nothing.

Rewritten fields in Review

Rewrites wait for your approval like everything else Rezolve Ai generates. Nothing in your store changes until you approve.

  • In the web app, they are on the Content tab of Review. The item is named after the fields it rewrites, for example "Care guide" or "Care guide and Board story". Each field shows the suggested text with the current text underneath.
  • In the Shopify app and the WordPress plugin, they appear in Review alongside the product's other suggestions.

When an approved rewrite is published, the store writes each field back in the field's own format: a rich text field gets rich text, a one-line field gets one line.

Two safeguards apply:

  • A field you edited since is left alone. If the field changed in your store after the suggestion was written, it is not overwritten. Generate the suggestion again to work from the new text.
  • Revert puts the original back. Reverting the item restores what the field held before.

Where content goes

Go to Settings, Where Content Goes, or open it directly.

Product Q&A, highlights, IRL scenario cards, internal links and product specifications are separate pieces of content. They are not part of the product description, so something has to decide where they appear. This screen is where you decide, one content type at a time.

The three destinations

Each content type has a Where it goes menu:

OptionWhat happens
Rezolve Ai blockThe default. The content is kept in a field Rezolve Ai owns and shown by its own block. You choose where on the page the block sits.
One of my custom fieldsThe content is written into a field your theme already shows, in that field's format.
Inside the product descriptionThe content is added as its own section of the description, so every theme and sales channel that shows the description shows it too.

Changes save as soon as you make them, and apply to content published from then on. Content that is already live stays where it is until it is published again.

Rezolve Ai block: where on the page

When a content type uses the Rezolve Ai block, a second menu, Where on the page, sets its position:

OptionResult
Below the product descriptionThe default. Shoppers read the description, then the content.
Above the product descriptionUseful when the description is long.
Bottom of the product pageAfter everything else on the page.
In a product tabWooCommerce only. A tab of its own next to Description and Additional information.
Wherever I place it myselfNothing is added automatically. You position the block in your theme.
Do not show it on the pageThe content is still generated for feeds and AI agents, but the page is unchanged.

Product specifications have no position menu. On Shopify they are shown by the Specifications block, which you place in the theme editor. On WooCommerce they are written as product attributes, which your theme shows under Additional information.

If you choose Wherever I place it myself on Shopify, add the positioned version of the block to your product template in the theme editor: IRL scenario card (positioned), Highlights (positioned) or Product Q&A (positioned). On WordPress, use the Rezolve Ai editor blocks or the shortcodes listed on the plugin's Settings screen.

One of my custom fields

Choose this when your theme already has a place for the content, such as a FAQ metafield, a highlights list or an ACF tab. A Field menu lists the fields that can hold that content type, each with its format in brackets.

A field has to be able to hold several lines of text, and the format has to suit the content:

ContentFormats it can be written in
Highlights, Product specificationsText on several lines, rich text, formatted text, or a list of lines
Product Q&A, IRL scenario cardsText on several lines, rich text, or formatted text
Internal linksRich text or formatted text, because the field has to be able to carry a link

If nothing is listed, none of your fields can hold that content yet. In the web app a field is listed once at least one product carries a value in it.

What the field holds now is replaced when content is published. The old value is kept, and reverting the item puts it back. From then on Rezolve Ai stops reading that field as product information, so it never feeds its own output back into what it writes next. On the Custom Fields screen the field moves to Not used, with a note saying what Rezolve Ai writes there.

If you later move the content somewhere else, the field is freed and your catalog is synced again so the field is read as product information once more.

Inside the product description

Two more controls appear:

  • Position: At the end of the description or At the start of the description.
  • Heading (optional): a heading shown above the section, up to 120 characters. Write it in your store's language. Leave it empty for no heading.

Reverting the item takes the section out of the description again. When a new description is approved later, the sections you chose to keep in it are carried over.

In the Shopify app

Both screens are reached from Settings in the app's menu.

  • Under Custom fields, choose Manage custom fields. The screen works the same way as the web app: status tabs with counts, search, Leave out, Use again, and a Rewrite switch.
  • Under Where content goes, choose Choose where content goes. Each content type has one Where it goes menu listing Rezolve Ai block, Inside the product description, and each eligible metafield.

On Shopify, the fields offered for content are your product metafield definitions that apps are allowed to edit and that have no fixed list of choices. If none fits, add a product metafield in your Shopify admin under Settings, Custom data: multi-line text or rich text for most content, a list of single-line text for highlights and specifications, and rich text for internal links.

For the storefront blocks themselves, see Schema on your live site.

In the WordPress plugin

Both live on Rezolve Ai, Settings and need WooCommerce.

  • The Custom fields card lists every field found on your products, with the same tabs, search, bulk actions and Rewrite switch. This needs plugin version 4.24.0 or later.
  • Where content goes is in the Automation card. Each content type has a menu with Rezolve Ai block, Inside the product description, at the end, Inside the product description, at the start, and your eligible fields. A block also has Where the block sits, and a description section has Section heading (optional). Click Save settings when you are done. This needs plugin version 4.25.0 or later. On an older version, the web app tells you to update and everything stays in the Rezolve Ai block.

On WordPress, the fields offered for content are ACF text areas and editors, custom fields, and the product short description.

Fields that look private are never sent from your site, and neither are fields you leave out. See Set up on WordPress for the rest of the plugin.
