Internal Linking

Configure AI-powered internal links for blog and listicle content, and generate product-level link recommendations.

AI-powered internal links improve site structure and SEO. Configure how links are added to blog and listicle content, and optionally generate product-level internal link recommendations.

What does internal linking do?

Internal linking in ACE covers two areas:

  • Blog and listicle content: When you create listicles or blog articles in the Content Hub, the AI can insert links to relevant products or pages. This is controlled by the Internal Linking settings (enable or disable, plus options).
  • Product-level recommendations: In Product Optimization, you can choose the content type "Internal Linking Recommendations." The AI then suggests semantic links based on product relationships (related products, category pages, and so on). These suggestions appear in the Review queue for approval before deployment.

Both help search engines and users discover related content and improve your site's link architecture.

Where to configure

Blog and listicle internal linking is configured in Settings, Internal Linking.

Go to Settings, then select the Internal Linking category in the sidebar. There you can:

  • Enable or disable AI-powered internal linking for content.
  • Adjust options that control how many links are suggested and where they can point (for example, products, collections).

Changes apply to new content generated in the Content Hub. Product-level "Internal Linking Recommendations" are selected as a content type in Product Optimization and do not use the same toggle. They always run when that content type is chosen.

How it appears in Review

When you generate "Internal Linking Recommendations" from Product Optimization, each product gets suggested links. These appear in the Review and Approval section as the content type Internal Links.

You can approve, reject, or defer them like other content. Use the preview to see the suggested links in context. Once approved, they can be deployed to your store with the rest of your optimized content.

Summary

  • Content Hub internal links: Enable in Settings, Internal Linking. Used when creating listicles and blog articles.
  • Product-level internal link suggestions: Select "Internal Linking Recommendations" in Product Optimization. Review and approve in Review and Approval.
