Connecting Data Sources
Connect your e-commerce platform or upload a product feed to get started with product optimization.
ACE works from your live product data. There are three ways to get your products into ACE. Once your products are in ACE, you can optimize them.
Choose how to connect
| Platform | How to connect |
|---|---|
| Shopify | Install the Agentic Commerce Engine app and connect it with your ACE API key. |
| WooCommerce | Install the Agentic Commerce Engine plugin for WordPress and connect it with your ACE API key. |
| Any other platform | Upload a product feed, or point ACE at a feed URL. |
Both connectors authenticate with an ACE API key that you paste once during setup. There is no separate OAuth login, and you do not need to configure store API credentials yourself. Get a key from Find your API key.
Connect Shopify
Install the Agentic Commerce Engine app from the Shopify App Store, then paste your ACE API key on the Connect screen. Your catalog syncs automatically. Full walkthrough: Set up on Shopify.
Connect WooCommerce
Install the Agentic Commerce Engine plugin from the WordPress.org directory, activate it, then paste your ACE API key under Agentic Commerce Engine → Connection. Full walkthrough: Set up on WordPress.
Uploading product feeds
If you don't use a supported platform, you can upload product feeds in various formats.
Supported formats
- Google Shopping XML
- CSV and TSV files
- Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb, .ods)
- JSON feeds
- Product feed URLs
Tip: For spreadsheets, put your column headers in the first row. Only the first sheet is imported. Files over 50 MB or about one million rows should be saved as CSV, which streams with no size limit.
Upload methods
- Upload a file directly from your computer.
- Provide a URL to fetch the feed automatically.
- Set up automatic sync from a feed URL.
Keeping products up to date
The Shopify app and the WordPress plugin sync your catalog for you. You can run a sync at any time (for example the Sync now button in the Shopify app), and product changes are picked up automatically.
For a feed URL, you can set an automatic refresh schedule so ACE re-fetches it on a cadence such as every 6 hours, daily, or weekly.
Troubleshooting
- Connection fails: Make sure your ACE API key is correct and still active. You can rotate a lost key from your API keys page.
- Products not syncing: Confirm the app or plugin is connected, that your store has products, and run a manual sync.
- Feed upload errors: Verify your feed format matches the supported schema and that all required fields are present.
- Missing data: Check your column mapping so product data is imported into the right fields.
